1. Introduction

Welcome to VÖR. The VÖR mobile application and services (collectively, the "Service") are operated by Akademiet for Kunstig Intelligens AS ("AFKI"), a Norwegian limited company, org. no. 933 480 860, Nydalsveien 28, 0484 Oslo, Norway ("VÖR," "we," "our," or "us"). These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Service. By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

The Service and these Terms may in the future be assigned to an affiliated entity (see Section 19.4); users will be notified of any such transfer.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.

2. Definitions

  • "Customer" means a user who posts job requests for home services.
  • "Provider" or "Service Provider" means a professional who offers home services through our platform.
  • "Job" means a service request posted by a Customer.
  • "Platform" means the VÖR mobile application and associated services.
  • "Platform Fee" or "Success Fee" means the commission charged to Providers for jobs obtained through the Platform.
  • "In-App Payment" means payment made by a Customer through the Platform, processed by our payment processor (Stripe), where funds are held and released to the Provider as described in Section 7.

3. Eligibility

To use our Service, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into binding contracts
  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

4. Account Registration

4.1 Account Creation

  • Customers may record and submit job requests before creating an account
  • Providers must create an account before accepting jobs
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4.2 Account Information

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information
  • Update your information to maintain its accuracy
  • Not impersonate any person or entity
  • Not create multiple accounts for fraudulent purposes

5. How VÖR Works

5.1 For Customers

  1. Job Posting: Record a video describing your home service need
  2. AI Estimation: Our AI analyzes your video and provides an estimated price and time
  3. Provider Matching: We match you with qualified Service Providers
  4. Selection: Choose your preferred Provider from available matches, and agree on the price (you may negotiate before accepting)
  5. Payment: Where In-App Payment is available, pay through the Platform when you accept the offer — your payment is held and released to the Provider as described in Section 7. Where In-App Payment is not available, pay the Provider directly using your agreed method
  6. Service Delivery: Provider completes and documents the job
  7. Approval: Approve the completed work (In-App Payment jobs)
  8. Rating: Rate and review the Provider's service

5.2 For Providers

  1. Invitation: Receive job notifications via SMS/email
  2. Review: View AI-generated estimates and job details
  3. Estimate Adjustment: Accept or modify the estimate before sending to Customer
  4. Acceptance: Customer approves your offer
  5. Service Delivery: Complete and document the job as agreed
  6. Payment: For In-App Payment jobs, receive your payout through the Platform after completion, net of the Platform Fee (Section 7). Otherwise, receive payment directly from the Customer and pay VÖR's Success Fee

6. Services and Limitations

6.1 VÖR is a Marketplace

VÖR operates as a marketplace platform connecting Customers and Providers. We:

  • Do NOT employ Service Providers
  • Do NOT perform home services ourselves
  • Do NOT guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of services
  • Facilitate payments between Customers and Providers where In-App Payment is available (Section 7); we are not a bank and do not provide regulated payment services ourselves — payments are processed by Stripe
  • Are NOT a party to the service agreement between Customer and Provider

6.2 AI Estimates

  • AI-generated estimates are for informational purposes only
  • Estimates are not binding quotes
  • Actual costs may vary based on Provider assessment
  • Providers may adjust estimates before Customer acceptance

6.3 Location Data

  • We collect postcode/zip code for provider matching
  • Full addresses are only shared after job acceptance
  • Location data is used to connect you with nearby Providers

7. Payments and Fees

7.1 In-App Payment ("VÖR Protect")

Where In-App Payment is available (see Section 7.4), the following applies:

  • The Customer pays the agreed price through the Platform when accepting the Provider's offer
  • Payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe; VÖR does not store full card details
  • Funds are held with the payment processor while the job is active and are released to the Provider when the Customer approves the completed and documented work
  • If the Provider has marked the job complete and the Customer neither approves nor raises a dispute within the holding period stated in the app, funds may be released automatically
  • Raising a dispute in the app before release freezes the funds pending resolution (Section 17.3)
  • Where the app offers milestone plans (e.g. 50/50), each milestone is held and released on the same principles
  • Each Provider appoints VÖR (through its payment processor) as its limited payment collection agent solely to receive payments from Customers on the Provider's behalf; a Customer's payment through the Platform discharges the Customer's payment obligation to the Provider for the amount paid

7.2 Platform Fee (In-App Payment jobs)

  • VÖR deducts a Platform Fee (a percentage of the job value) plus payment processing costs from the Provider's payout
  • The applicable fee and the Provider's net payout are shown in the app before and at payout
  • The Platform Fee is earned when the job completes and is non-refundable except as required by law

7.3 Analysis Credits

  • Customers receive a free quota of AI analyses; additional analyses require consumable credits ("clips") purchased in-app through the app stores
  • Credits are consumed per analysis, do not expire, and are refunded automatically if an analysis fails
  • Purchases are otherwise non-refundable except as required by law or the applicable app store's policies

7.4 Regions Without In-App Payment

  • In-App Payment is available in countries supported by our payment processor for provider payouts (Stripe Connect); availability is shown in the app
  • Where In-App Payment is not available, VÖR provides matching only: Customers pay Providers directly, using a payment method agreed between them, and VÖR is not responsible for those payments or payment disputes
  • For such jobs, Providers pay VÖR a Success Fee for jobs obtained through the Platform, invoiced via Stripe; alternatively VÖR may charge a booking or matching fee as communicated in the app before it applies
  • Failure to pay invoiced fees may result in account suspension

7.5 No Refunds from VÖR

  • VÖR does not refund Platform or Success Fees on completed jobs
  • Disputes about service quality are between Customer and Provider; for In-App Payment jobs the dispute process in Section 7.1 applies to the held funds
  • Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable statutory rights you have as a consumer

8. User Responsibilities

8.1 Customer Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate job descriptions
  • Be available for Provider communication
  • Pay Providers as agreed
  • Treat Providers with respect
  • Provide honest ratings and reviews

8.2 Provider Responsibilities

  • Possess necessary licenses, insurance, and qualifications
  • Complete jobs professionally and safely
  • Communicate clearly with Customers
  • Honor agreed prices and timelines
  • Pay Success Fees promptly
  • Maintain accurate availability status

9. Prohibited Conduct

You may NOT:

  • Use the Service for illegal purposes
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Post false or misleading information
  • Attempt to circumvent the platform to avoid fees (Section 9.1)
  • Use automated systems to access the Service
  • Share account credentials with others
  • Discriminate based on protected characteristics
  • Manipulate ratings or reviews
  • Solicit users for other platforms or services

9.1 No Circumvention

VÖR's fees compensate the matching, estimation, and payment-protection services the Platform provides. When a Customer and a Provider are introduced or matched through the Platform, you agree — for 12 months after that introduction — not to book, perform, or pay for that job (or a substantially similar job between the same parties) outside the Platform for the purpose of avoiding VÖR's fees. This includes exchanging contact details to move the transaction off-platform before booking. If a job is taken off-platform in breach of this Section, VÖR may charge the Provider the Platform Fee or Success Fee that would have applied, and may suspend or terminate the accounts involved. Contact information shared in the app may be masked until a booking is confirmed.

10. Content and Intellectual Property

10.1 User Content

  • You retain ownership of content you submit (videos, photos, reviews)
  • You grant VÖR a worldwide, non-exclusive license to use your content for platform operations
  • You represent that you have rights to all content you submit
  • VÖR may remove content that violates these Terms

10.2 VÖR Intellectual Property

  • VÖR owns all rights to the platform, including logos, designs, and software
  • You may not copy, modify, or distribute VÖR's intellectual property
  • "VÖR" and associated marks are our trademarks

11. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data. By using the Service, you consent to our Privacy Policy.

12. Ratings and Reviews

  • Ratings and reviews must be honest and based on actual experiences
  • We may remove reviews that violate our policies
  • Reviews are opinions of individual users, not VÖR
  • We do not verify the accuracy of reviews

13. Termination

13.1 By You

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us.

13.2 By VÖR

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these Terms
  • Engage in fraudulent activity
  • Provide false information
  • Fail to pay Success Fees (Providers)
  • Receive consistent negative ratings

13.3 Effect of Termination

  • You remain liable for unpaid Success Fees
  • We may retain data as required by law
  • Termination does not affect completed transactions

14. Disclaimers

14.1 "AS IS" Service

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. VÖR DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

14.2 No Guarantee

We do not guarantee:

  • Availability of Providers
  • Quality of services
  • Accuracy of AI estimates
  • Uninterrupted platform access
  • Error-free operation

14.3 Third-Party Services

We are not responsible for third-party services (payment processors, mapping services, etc.) integrated into our platform.

15. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

  • VÖR'S LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT OF FEES PAID BY YOU TO VÖR IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS
  • WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES
  • WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR DAMAGES ARISING FROM SERVICE QUALITY, PAYMENT DISPUTES, OR USER CONDUCT
  • WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold VÖR harmless from claims arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any law or third-party rights
  • Services provided or received through the platform

17. Dispute Resolution

17.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to conflict of law principles.

17.2 Arbitration

Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Oslo, Norway, except where prohibited by law.

17.3 User Disputes

Disputes between Customers and Providers must be resolved directly between the parties. VÖR may provide information but is not obligated to mediate.

18. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Changes are effective when posted. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be notified via email or in-app notification.

19. General Provisions

19.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and VÖR.

19.2 Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

19.3 No Waiver

Failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver of that right.

19.4 Assignment

You may not assign these Terms. VÖR may assign them without restriction.

19.5 Force Majeure

We are not liable for failures beyond our reasonable control.
